New COMPET-N/CNDOOM megawad

Here you can suggest doom1/2.exe compatibile maps, if I approve them Ill create new thread for each map, then people can vote for it and provide first demos for it if they want. Please do not just send a bunch of them without good reason hehe. I expect decent maps only. :) If map is great but has small limitations (eg. not 100% compatibile with doom2.exe) or has bugs or no secrets then I can modify it to fit doom2.exe and our neds.

I think it's a good idea to add these since 90% of the compet-n records are optimal. Maybe we can add the megawads alone

Some wads

Deus Vult (5 maps)
The Darkening (11 maps for SP and 11 maps for co-op)
The Darkening Episode 2(12 maps for SP and 12 for co-op)
Icarus : Alien Vanguard (32 maps)
Epic 2 (32 maps)
Scythe (32)
Plutonia 2 (32)

If possible, we can add the megawads in the database :P I can help you with it if you want

EDIT : I've heard of these ones as good vanilla doom-compatible wads. I've tried out a couple of Epic 2 maps and they seem to have an egyptian theme. Map 31 is AWESOME!

Please, suggest one map from megawad or something like that, not whole megawad, or pack of maps. It would take me days to go through all of those you listed. Also provide links to maps.

Dv.wad don't work in doom2.exe, a limit removing source port is needed.

It works fine in CNDoom 2.03... I think it's best for fx to decide whether the competition is for doom2.exe or cndoom.exe

I took a look at suggested maps and I'll pass. Maps should be Doom 1, Doom 2, TNT, Plutonia, Memento Mori style. For instance Schyte is not bad, but didn't have time to go through all maps. Some of them will be considered.

E2M1 and E2M2 are nice maps. This is an episode 2 replacement which is for vanilla and has no new monsters, sounds, textures, etc. Only new levels

Deus Vult is -complevel 9 so that is out of the question besides, the map is far too big and the sections of the map lack a lot of category "opportunities". I also thought TVR! Map 28 might be a suitable candidate for one of the early levels, though the majority of the wad lacks difficulty. In my opinion; before you even think of compiling maps into a single wad, you should be asking permission from the authors to see if you can include their work into a compilation.

Oh shitty bollocks, I was meant to say suggest, not sure why I said vote. If there is to be a UDoom wad then I would definitely second Uggi's suggestion of E2M2 of back to basics and I would also add E1M9 from DODEAD.

You "voted" by posting it here ;) Suggested maps will be extra modified if needed for usage in Competition Doom. Of course if author will permit us to do that. So please take in mind that wad should be Vanilla compatible and that it has good play ability / design. You can also suggest modifications and send modified wads.
